Sunday, my newsfeed flooded with pictures from the last long distance race I did last year saddened me because I miss the excitement & anticipation of it & the people. Then Kristi posted that morning's stair climb & I was reminded that I have new goals & desires.. And have new friends going with me. Yesterday my lean mass was tested & the operator of the dunk tank said he thinks I've hit my ceiling.. This is how far I will go due to my genetics. I almost left on the verge of crying, but I turned around to talk to my mentor Katy Wayman-White who reminded me that she grows at a .50# a year and reminded me to SLEEP & be consistent because that's when we create muscles. I created this side by side of my running Abs & legs vs. my lifting Abs & legs to remind me where I'm going… Motivated me, I got 7 hrs of sleep last night. #dobetter #patienceintheprocess #transformationtuesday

I was asked about my #projectbirthdaybutt & truthfully, I wasn't excited to take a picture & post results. I struggle with the same mental battles as my clients and had an awesome talk with one today! Yes, I compared mine to all of the Instagram butt shots. I compared myself to even my own clients who are seeing amazing results at great speeds. I'm hard on myself just like they are.. But it's to no ones fault, keep posting those IG gym selfies, they inspire me. This journey has taught me to turn thoughts of comparison to thoughts of motivation & inspiration "if she can, I can!" Not "why can't I?" HUGE lesson for me is: my body will develop at it's own rate… Deal with it and do the hard work anyways. July 2013 before pic was after running my last half marathon in 8 years, See Jane Run. I did another March 2014, Hot Chocolate Half but was advised by my coach to walk it. I'm building from scratch, depleted muscle mass, and knowing that makes me happy with my progress. Accountability check: Friday Leg Day done (I was on the ground & teared up). 1. This journey continues to challenge all facets of my mind, body and spirit and I have learned that I have crazy determination to keep moving forward. That I’m willing to sacrifice what I am now, for what I will become. That even in the midst of struggle, I can find joy and lift others up. I’ve found that I’m able to harness my faith that say’s “I will make this dream a reality.” I’ve also learned that I can make mistakes; adjust, and get back on track quickly. I’ve learned that I can be Bold, push my boundaries and I will be rewarded. 2. Yup, I have a full plate like you: Fiancé, wedding planning (I’m so excited to become the wife to the most amazing man), pre-marital counseling, church, family, friends, work, and my dog Bo .There was never going to be a point in my life where it was the right time to achieve this great crazy goal. If I was waiting for that perfect moment, perfect timing, it wasn’t going to happen. I had to CREATE the perfect time and the opportunity and the perfect situation. The reality was that I needed to start where I was with what I had, b/c what I had was enough. I hope that others will see that the best time to start something new is now. And the best thing you can do is invest in your mind, invest in your body, and invest in your goals. Take the first step. And don’t let anyone turn you around and steal your dream. Yes, you will get knocked down, but if you can land on your back and look up, you can get up. 3. Victory Get Fit Club is a community that loves lifts and encourages us to BE the Best Me; not the best copycat of someone else. I am accepted for whom I am, and others actually want me to succeed. I couldn’t do this without the support of my team, coaches, or fiancé. They push me every day to be better and make me realize that “I am stronger mentally and physically than I think I am.” It is so necessary that you align yourself and attract people that are hungry, who are unstoppable, who refuse to live life just as is, who want more.
